Suluova Geographical Structure
Located in the inner Black Sea region of Suluova, Amasya 25 km. west. The area of the district is 516 km2 and the altitude is 510 meters. Suluova is surrounded by mountains that are not high on three sides. Akdag is the highest mountain of the district and its height is 2064 meters. The west of Suluova is connected to the Merzifon Plain. The river called Tersakan is the most important river of the district. The source is Ladik Lake. Tersakan enters Suluova from Eski Çeltek and draws an arc to the right in the plain and joins Yeşilırmak in Amasya. Built in the Yedikır area, the pond is 7.5 km from Tersakan Creek. Water transport from Tersakan to Yedikır Pond is provided through channels. The pond is the largest irrigation dam of the environment with a volume of 60 million m3.
