Lignite
It has a rich reserve in terms of lignite coal deposits. Since the early years of the Republic, lignite deposits have been operated. Eski Çeltek Coal Mine is operated by the Special Provincial Administration in the district and it continues its production in the form of open and closed operations. Its annual capacity is around 250,000 tons. There are also 3 private coal enterprises in our district, which have an average annual production of 50,000 tons. These enterprises have important contributions in meeting the coal needs of the district, surrounding regions and industrialists. The list of personnel working in the enterprises is shown below. In addition to the mines, 2 lime quarries and 3 quarries are operating in the district.
Exploration of mining sites is being carried out by private companies, especially MTA, in Suluova. Especially the coal reserves in the region have been exposed and production is continuing in this area.
Old Çeltek Coal Plant
Eski Çeltek Coal Enterprises is the largest coal producer company in Amasya that meets 70% of the coal needed by the industrial sector of our province. The coal deposit is located on the G35-a3 sheet, 2 km northwest of Suluova. This business started in 1927 by DDY by obtaining a license covering 437 hectares. It was purchased by the Special Provincial Administration in 1958 and is still operated by this Administration. Production is carried out in 2 open pits at 133 hectares of operable coal field. The apparent coal reserve was determined to be 4 million tons. Annual production and sales of 150.000 tons of sieved dust, washed dust, hazelnut, walnut, 1st and 2nd product parts and pellets are made. The chemical values of the coals in the old Çeltek region are as follows; Water: 6.3%, Clay: 9.75%, Sulfur: 1.5%, AID kcal / kg: 5500 There are also 3 private coal enterprises in our district. These have an average annual production of 50,000 tons of coal. These enterprises have important contributions in meeting the coal needs of the district, surrounding regions and industrialists. An average of 500 workers and personnel are employed in the enterprises.
Son of the Coal Bed
The coal deposit is located near the village and on the G35-a3 sheet. The chemical properties of the coal, estimated by MTA to be 3,483,000 tons, are as follows; Water: 14.53%, Ash: 10.31%, Sulfur: 1.81%, AID kcal / kg: 5574, Density: 1.36 - 193 tons / m3
Armutlu Lignite Bed
The coal deposit is located 5 km from Suluova and on sheets G35-a2, a3. The coal is estimated to have 763,000 tons of reserves by the MTA; water: 9.96%, ash: 32.83%, AID: 3587, density: 1.70 ton / m3
Çukurören Coal Mine
The coal deposit is located in the G35-b4 section near Çukurören village. The chemical properties of the coal, estimated by MTA as 364.781 tons, are as follows; water: 15.45%., Ash: 36.47%, AID kcal / kg: 3162, Density: 1.2 tons / m3 The second coal deposit in Çukurören has a reserve of 327.000 tons according to MTA. In addition to the mines 2 lime quarries and 4 quarry enterprises are operating in the district.
